Each section contains multiple projects, all of which provide images, a description and links to the fiber optic products which were used to create them.

Hospitality

Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Night Clubs - fiber optics can be used to produce wonderful atmospheric lighting.

The mood of a restaurant can be changed by a subtle alteration in light color. Clubs and bars can have stunning effects in the evening, which can be toned down for daytime clientele.

Fiber optics can produce exquisite effect lighting and highly controllable display lighting. It is ideal for use as functional lighting in serveries and around bar gantries due to its minuscule heat emission. It can make a focal point of any feature area.

There are a number of control options available including the industry standard DMX 512 and a range of end fittings to give the desired effect and to blend in with your decor.

Universal Fiber Optics are specialists in conservation lighting for museums and galleries. We have a range of original products including the unique hermetic fittings, light tubes and light wands, and specialist cabinet mounting extrusions with articulated fittings.

With their extremely low heat and UV output, fiber optics will not damage delicate items on display, making this technology ideal for lighting rare books and manuscripts, paintings, textiles and any other item prone to degradation by light. There is a choice of color temperatures available, and many light sources can be optionally made dimmable.

We work with museums, galleries or display case manufacturers to develop custom made systems to suit each installation.

Retail

Retail outlets can benefit greatly from the use of fiber optic lighting. Universal Fiber Optics works with major retail groups, shopfitters and interior designers to deliver high quality general and special effect lighting.

Fiber optic lighting can solve many of the common problems encountered with lighting of displays. Heat and UV content of the light is minimal and the lighting can be controlled to give accurate color rendition, or colored or twinkling effects.

Ceiling features, wall washes, spotlighting, linear light line effects, illuminated garment rails and in-floor marker lights are all within the remit of fiber optics. If you have an idea, please call us and we will be happy to make it happen.

Wet Area

Fiber optics offer the safest method available for lighting wet areas. There is no scalding heat from the end fittings, and electricity can be kept away from water and humid areas.

Pools, spa baths, saunas, fountains and garden water features can all benefit from being lit, and with fiber optics you can offer another dimension with color changing light. We have a range of end fittings specially designed for use underwater, and side glow fiber can give a distinctive line of light, which looks wonderful at night when used to outline the shape of a pool or water feature.

Systems can be supplied for inside or outside location of the light source.
