Stair Nosing
The UFO stair nosing system provides a safe and convenient light to the front edge of almost any size of stairway.
Illuminating both the front and top of each step, fiber optics provide the easiest way to achieve this type of lighting.
Stair nosing contains two sizes of side glow fiber optic harnesses - 0.44in (10.8mm) ø lighting the top of the stair and 0.34in (8.6mm) ø to light the front.
As standard the stair nosing is supplied in 197in (5m) lengths but it can be cut to any length as required.
Fitting Methods
There are two fitting methods for stair nosing - which one is suitable will depend on the construction of the staircase.
Method one uses two fiber optic tails which run in a zig-zag style through each step in turn. Method two uses 2 separate fiber tails to each step. See the diagrams above for more information.
