Illuminators
Illuminators provide the light which is to be transmitted down the fibers. They typically contain a lamp with reflector, starter gear or transformer, and a fan along with optional effects such as color change or twinkle wheel and control systems.
All fans fitted to our illuminators are of a quiet type and we can supply EPDM mats if they are being sat on a resonant surface. Glass type illuminators provide slightly more light than the type for PMMA fiber, but are only suitable for use with glass fiber as they could damage PMMA fiber. PMMA type illuminators can be used with either fiber type. The two main types of illuminators offered by Universal Fiber Optics are Metal Halide and Halogen and we also offer a range of accessories to enhance and protect the illuminator.
